Maui to Molokai Safety Requirements

July 19-20th 2024
Every racer will be checked for their safety gear. Please be sure you have your safety packs ready to show at beach check in

WE ARE NOT REQUIRING ESCORT BOATS

However, you must consider safety your top priority no matter how good you are.

We will require you to carry different safety pack options, and everyone must have a PFD.

Everyone must wear their safety jersey and no excuses. The safety jersey allows us to identify you in the ocean. You will be DSQ if you do not wear your safety jersey.

Riding from Maui to Molokai, then Molokai to Oahu on foil was a dream come trueThankyou to everyone at @molokaiholokai and @molokai2oahu for putting on the most fun races of the year. I didn’t ride the way I wanted, but I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. Also a massive thank you to @axisfoils and @frank_foilboards for putting me on the best gear possible. Can’t wait for next year 🫶

Coming off an awesome weekend foiling @molokaiholokai (27mi) and @molokai2oahu (39 mi), almost 70 miles across both races. These two major channel crossings were my first on foil and taught me so much about the racing in this sport: the requirement of 150% unabated concentration (for sooo long), endurance, mindset and my body’s needs for nutrition. Super proud to finish M2O, it’s a race I’ve watched my dad compete in for years and one that I’ve always wanted to complete solo. Feeling grateful for an awesome team, our world class community (@voyager_foiler), super Kaiwi conditions and excellent equipment to pull this effort together. So stoked to be participating in this sport right now and can’t even begin to fathom what’s possible next year!A huge mahalo to all who supported me in bringing this to life, to those who sacrificed hours waiting for me because I was “late” getting out of the water (😂) and to my amazing friends and family came to welcome me home at the finish line. Congrats to the other athletes who were out there last weekend, inspiring to see the caliber of talent pushing the limits.@wetfeet_hawaii

There’s not much more unique and more pure than crossing from one island to another with just the power of your body and nature.Ever since I was 8 years old paddling with my dad in the Olukai Ho’olaule’a, I wanted to someday compete in and navigate the Pailolo and Ka’iwi channels. This week that goal was accomplished 🤝 (even though it was on a more modern vessel; sorry dad I wanted to go faster 🤠.)Beyond grateful and honored to be a part of the Koa Kai Triple Crown; which included the @molokaiholokai (28miles), @molokai2oahu (38 miles), and the @paddleimua (7miles). The paddle Imua brings ocean lovers from around the world together to not only compete but more importantly to support Camp Imua, a recreational camp experience for the children of Maui County with special needs 🙏🫶. It’s events like these that make me proud to call this place home.Thank you to all the event organizers and volunteers for making these events possible as well as all the communities of Molokai and Oahu for being so welcoming.Big shoutout to @armstrongfoils for allowing me to support and represent such an awesome brand filled with so many passionate people. Also thank you to my boat captain @natevolk_ it was an absolute mission and it wouldn’t have been possible without you 🤙🏽. Looking forward to next year!Riding:
